The Dog Stop Announces Newest Location Coming to Baton Rouge

March 11, 2024

PITTSBURGH, Pa. - The Dog Stop, the all-inclusive and award-winning dog care brand, is thrilled to announce the opening of its newest location in Louisiana. Located at 1871 Staring Ln Suite D, Baton Rouge, LA 70810, the facility’s doors are set to open for services in March with a Grand Opening Celebration on March 23rd, promising a full range of services designed to enrich every facet of a dog’s life. As an increasing number of pet owners place importance on their pet’s overall wellness, The Dog Stop is committed to bringing its high-quality services to new communities.

The new Baton Rouge location is owned by local entrepreneur Kristin Eldridge and her wife, Darion Pack. Prior to this new venture, Eldridge worked as a lab tech for twelve years, and found herself missing spending time with her family. She sought to open her own business to find a career she felt passionate about, and was drawn to The Dog Stop by the brand’s incredible support system and team.

“I realized I couldn’t see myself continuing down my current career path for another 20 years, and wanted to make a real change in my life,” said Eldridge. “When I met with The Dog Stop, Darion and I felt it was truly special and knew we wanted to be a part of it. They have built a fantastic team and a proven model, and I’m thrilled to be bringing The Dog Stop’s services to the people of Baton Rouge.”

As a Louisiana local, Eldridge saw a need for The Dog Stop in Baton Rouge, noticing a lack of resources for local dogs. She looks to fill a niche in the market with The Dog Stop’s all-inclusive services, including holistic retail, luxury boarding accommodations, an interactive and social daycare experience, spa-like grooming, and more. With three other successful locations in Louisiana, The Dog Stop has established themselves in the market as a one-stop-shop, and is now ready to provide Baton Rouge pet parents with their high-quality services.

The Grand Opening Celebration, scheduled for March 23rd from 10 am – 2 pm, is poised to be a jubilant affair for owners and their pups, featuring special discounts, giveaways, treats for your pets, and tours of their beautiful new facility. Beyond this inaugural celebration, The Dog Stop plans to provide pet care for the large population of healthcare workers and first responders, work with local rescue organizations, and become involved in the community.

“Our facility is located near many hospitals and research centers,” continued Eldridge. “It’s important to us to be able to provide pet care for the hardworking and dedicated members of this community, and we plan to provide longer hours and assistance to ensure our services meet their needs.”

Owned and operated by dog people since 2009, The Dog Stop understands the complex process involved in dog care and knows that there is no such thing as a one size fits all approach. At The Dog Stop, expert staff at each location stay up-to-date on the ever-changing science that applies to dog care, behavior, grooming, and nutrition. A one-stop-shop also offering pet care products and supplies, each item on its shelves is the latest and greatest in its respective category, ensuring that each dog who stops by receives the very best treatment.

“We are thrilled to be partnering with Kristin to bring The Dog Stop to Baton Rouge,” said Jesse Coslov, CEO and Co-Founder of The Dog Stop. “We have seen incredible support from the Louisiana community, and are confident in Kristin to continue our mission to provide the highest-quality of dog care in Baton Rouge.”
