Smalls Sliders Accelerates Florida Growth with Latest Five-Can Agreement
PALM BEACH – Smalls Sliders, the premium cheeseburger slider brand, is continuing to slide thru Florida. This time, the deal details a five-Can agreement for Palm Beach County alongside established entrepreneur, Todd Severson.
Severson brings more than 20 years of experience to this latest business venture. Having previously owned several fast-casual restaurants and overseen day-to-day site operations, Severson is well-equipped to add another brand to his growing portfolio. Currently, he serves as a multi-unit franchisee with Jimmy John’s and owns more than 20 units with the brand. Severson’s background in tech, marketing and restaurant ownership has given him a keen eye for brands designed to flourish on a national scale, perfectly matching Smalls Sliders’ ideal franchise candidate.
“Smalls Sliders has a narrow approach, focused simply on being the absolute best in their category – that’s what hooked me,” said Severson. “I love that Smalls is on a pursuit to perfect the cheeseburger slider, rather than some of the other concepts we see today that try and do a laundry list of menu items. This, combined with the seamless drive-thru set up and outdoor dining, I knew this would be the perfect concept to bring to Southern Florida.”
The first Smalls Sliders location to open under this agreement will likely be in 2025, once a real estate site is selected and construction begins. Severson is actively exploring potential development opportunities in communities like West Palm Beach, Delray Beach, Boca Raton, Boynton Beach and Jupiter.
“Entrepreneurs across Florida continue to express interest in bringing Smalls Sliders to their communities, so we expect to have a very solid footprint throughout the state in the coming years,” said Maria Rivera, CEO of Smalls Sliders. “Having established restauranteurs, like Todd, who understand everything that goes into running a successful QSR is invaluable to our expansion efforts.”
Smalls Sliders opened its first signature ‘Smorange™’ colored Can in 2019. Since its inception, Smalls Sliders has disrupted the QSR industry with its stacked leadership team and robust development pipeline, furthering its rapid growth trajectory with more than 200 Cans open or under development. The brand continues to garner high-level industry recognition, with Nation’s Restaurant News featuring Smalls Sliders in its “Breakout Brands of 2023”, and QSR Magazine ranking the brand in its annual QSR 50 Contenders list. Other accolades include ranking on Entrepreneur magazine’s “Top New & Emerging Franchises” list in 2023.
