John Carlson of Christian Brothers Automotive Awarded Franchisee of the Year by the International Franchise Association
PHOENIX – The International Franchise Association (IFA) recently named John Carlson, owner of Christian Brothers Automotive (CBA) in North Scottsdale, as the 2023 Franchisee of the Year.
Carlson was honored at the 64th IFA Annual Convention on Feb. 17 in Phoenix for being an outstanding franchise owner and for demonstrating an unwavering commitment to his community.
“It's a tremendous honor to receive this award from the IFA and to be recognized among so many incredible franchise owners nationwide. This award is a testament to the hard work and dedication of my incredible team at North Scottsdale, as well as the invaluable mentorship from fellow CBA franchisees and the unwavering support from our Home Office leadership,” said Carlson. “I'm grateful to be part of the CBA family and I'm very proud that our brand is equally focused on serving our guests and team members with excellence.”
No stranger to hard work and dedication, Carlson was a tight end in the NFL for seven years prior to opening his CBA franchise. He first became familiar with the brand as a customer, having had several positive experiences at the Ocotillo shop. CBA’s commitment to transparent car repairs and its mission to “love your neighbor as yourself” contributed to Carlson’s move to a career in franchising.
The Franchisee of the Year Award recognizes leading franchise owners from IFA member brands whose outstanding performance and contributions help protect, enhance, and promote the franchise business model. Nominated by their parent company, individuals are selected for their involvement in their communities, embodying the entrepreneurial spirit, fostering a strong and healthy culture with their workforce, and assisting their fellow franchisees when called upon.
“John’s recognition as a 2023 Franchisee of the Year is a testament to his relentless commitment to excellence and community service. We take immense pride in franchisees like John, who embody our core values and consistently demonstrate outstanding leadership,” said Donnie Carr, President and CEO of Christian Brothers Automotive. “John's dedication to his team, his community, and the values of our brand is truly inspiring. We congratulate him on this well-deserved honor and are proud to have him represent CBA.”
Based on a business model that emphasizes knowledgeable and transparent car maintenance and repair, Christian Brothers Automotive offers a wide array of services, from simple upkeep to preventative services that address issues with as little hassle as possible. Beyond exemplary auto service, Christian Brothers Automotive seeks to invest in the health of guests’ vehicles and remain their auto service partner for many years to come.
“Franchisees of the Year exemplify what franchising is all about – providing opportunity, serving others, and fulfilling the American Dream,” said Matthew Haller, President and CEO of the International Franchise Association. “We are proud to recognize John with the highest honor IFA awards to individual franchisees, and I have no doubt his work is changing lives and making a lasting community impact.”
