IFA TO SUPPORT EUGENE SCALIA FOR LABOR SECRETARY

Franchise Association Announces Support Following Confirmation Hearing

(WASHINGTON, SEPT. 19) – The International Franchise Association (IFA) today announced its support for Eugene Scalia to serve as the United States Secretary of Labor.

Following his confirmation hearing before the U.S. Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions, IFA President and CEO Robert Cresanti said:

“Mr. Scalia will bring a deep knowledge of labor and business policies to this vitally important new role. His previous confirmation as Solicitor of Labor, in addition to his distinguished career in the government and private sector, show that he has both the practical experience and policy knowledge to serve as Labor Secretary.

“Importantly, Scalia will be well-positioned to maintain the Trump Administration’s efforts toward reinstating common-sense, pro-growth policies. IFA encourages Senators to support his confirmation and hopes that the Senate moves quickly to approve his nomination.”

America’s 733,000 franchise businesses employ 7.6 million Americans and contribute $675 billion to the nation’s economy.
