Urges Chavez-DeRemer to denounce job-killing PRO Act and support a joint employer standard that will protect the franchise model and provide much-needed stability after four years of uncertainty and hostile policies
WASHINGTON – Today, the International Franchise Association (IFA) issued the following statement on the nomination of U.S. Rep. Lori Chavez-DeRemer (R-OR) to serve as U.S. Secretary of Labor:
“IFA congratulates Rep. Lori Chavez-DeRemer on her selection to lead the U.S. Department of Labor,” said Matt Haller, IFA President and CEO. “IFA looks forward to ensuring the job-killing PRO Act and Biden-era joint employer standard have no place in the incoming administration. With the regulatory onslaught of the last four years coming to an end, the franchise business model is poised to provide economic opportunity and upward mobility that Americans are so desperately looking for after four years of crushing inflation and burdensome regulations. We look forward to working with the Trump Administration to create even more opportunities for small business owners and protect America’s greatest business model.”
