IFA Endorses Mike Braun for Governor and Jim Banks for U.S. Senate Ahead of Next Week’s Indiana Primary Elections
Awards “Friend of Franchising” endorsements for support of pro-business policies
WASHINGTON, May 3, 2024 – The International Franchise Association (IFA) today endorsed U.S. Sen. Mike Braun (R-IN) for Indiana Governor and U.S. Rep. Jim Banks (R-IN-03) for U.S. Senate ahead of next week’s primary elections in Indiana. Named a “Friend of Franchising,” IFA endorsed the candidates for their leadership on pro-business policies supporting America’s locally owned franchise small businesses.
“These candidates have proven that they are champions for Indiana’s local franchised businesses,” said Michael Layman, IFA senior vice president of government relations and public affairs. “In a political environment where franchises are under siege from misguided federal regulations, we need leaders like these who will prioritize policies to protect local entrepreneurs and all the good they do in the communities around them. Support for small business crosses party lines, and we are proud to support anyone who stands for our priorities.”
Indiana is home to 17,872 franchised businesses, employing over 194,661 people in the state and providing $19 billion in economic output.
In addition to the Indiana endorsements, IFA has endorsed candidates in Pennsylvania, California, North Carolina, and Texas this year.
