Hounds Town USA Opens First Kentucky Location
CRESTWOOD, Ky. – Hounds Town USA, the daycare and boarding concept where everything they do is for the dogs, announced today the opening of its newest location in the greater Louisville area. Situated at 5998 Pleasant Colony Ct., the facility serves as a new source of trusted pet care for the community and officially opened on September 21.
The new location is owned by former FBI agent and local Crestwood resident, Shelley Beggs. She saw the need for a pet care facility in Crestwood and knew Hounds Town would be the perfect fit for the community. Drawing from her extensive experience in law enforcement, the Hounds Town brand resonated deeply with Beggs given the founder’s ties to the NYPD and his unique philosophy on dog management. Beggs will operate this location with the help of her daughter with plans to host a grand opening, complete with a ribbon-cutting ceremony, later in October.
“Bringing Hounds Town’s interactive daycare services to the Louisville area is an incredibly exciting venture for me,” said Beggs. “I saw a clear need for high-quality, reliable dog care in the area, and Hounds Town’s philosophy really resonated with me. It’s all about giving dogs the freedom to express their natural instincts in a safe, structured environment, and I knew right away that it would be a great fit for our furry friends in Crestwood.”
As a long-time member of the local community, Beggs is heavily involved in understanding the area's needs and is committed to making a positive impact. Her extensive law enforcement background honed her management skills, which will translate seamlessly into the operational needs of running her Hounds Town location.
“Shelley’s experience combined with her passion for dogs and commitment to serving the community makes her the perfect person to introduce our brand to the area,” said Rob Flanagan, CEO of Hounds Town. “We’re looking forward to seeing the positive impact she’ll have on the Crestwood community, and we’re confident that her leadership and dedication will make Hounds Town a trusted and beloved place for local pet owners. We are thrilled to expand our presence to Kentucky and welcome more wagging tails to the Hounds Town family.”
Hounds Town is truly a unique pet care business, with services that include interactive dog daycare, pet boarding, and stress-free spa services. Supervised by a well-trained staff, dogs are able to play all-day, providing both physical and mental stimulation, with a group of dogs that match their size and temperament for safe and fun socialization— guaranteeing a Hounds Town Hangover when pets go home. Further setting itself apart, Hounds Town has a no breed discrimination policy, making it easier for all pet owners to find reliable care.
ABOUT HOUNDS TOWN USA
Founded in 2000 by former NYPD canine handler and commanding officer of the Nassau County Police Department, Michael S. Gould, Hounds Town USA offers a unique and fun approach to doggy daycare and pet boarding. The brand emphasizes a safe and welcoming environment for all dogs, no matter their size, breed, age or ability.
