FRANCHISE ACTION NETWORK ANNUAL MEETING KICKS OFF

2019 Franchise Advocacy Meeting Taking Place in Washington D.C. Sept. 9-11

WASHINGTON, Sept. 9, 2019 - The International Franchise Association (IFA) today kicked off the Franchise Action Network Annual Meeting (FAN).

FAN gives franchise business leaders from across the country the opportunity to meet directly with key members of Congress to discuss important legislation impacting the franchise business model. More than 350 franchise owners and advocates are expected to attend the 2019 meeting, which runs from Sept. 9 through 11.

“FAN is a celebration of the power of franchise businesses making their voices heard in our nation’s capital. Attendees’ presence and involvement shows the collective strength of franchising,” said IFA President and CEO Robert Cresanti. “By gathering so many business owners here in Washington, we are able to amplify the message that franchise businesses are local businesses and that local ownership is the key to our success.”

The FAN meeting will feature presentations from two successful franchise business and non-profit leaders.

Marques Colston, a former New Orleans Saints wide receiver and current partner in Main Squeeze Juice will discuss the importance of giving back to communities and why former pro athletes are a great fit for franchising. William McNulty, a Marine veteran and co-founder of veteran service organization Team Rubicon USA, will share his experience about building purpose-driven cultures, finding productive ways to push past difficult moments, and scaling a brand globally.

In addition to the featured speakers and the day of lobbying on Capitol Hill, FAN event highlights include the Franchising Gives Back Celebration & Awards Dinner, educational programming for franchisees, the Franchisee of the Year Awards Dinner, and the Taste of Franchising closing reception.

IFA's Franchise Action Network, or FAN, is the association's industry-leading grassroots network of advocates across the country, serving as the voice of America's 733,000 franchise businesses in Washington and state capitals across the country.
