SESSION DESCRIPTIONS:

TARGETING CULTURE / MODULE 1 OF 4:

OnDemand Recording: Great Teams Understand their "WHY" (Lesson 1)

While profit and loss is extremely important to the success of a business, the Great Teams make sure that the entire organization is connected to a Greater purpose. Great Teams are constantly reminded of who they serve and why what they do matters…and this is true no matter what line of work you're in. In this lesson, you will learn ways to truly identify your corporate "WHY" and how to make sure everyone on the team feels that "WHY" through practical exercises and lessons from Great Teams in sports, business and the non-profit world.

Great Teams Have and Develop Great Leaders (Lesson 2)

While the need for leadership is obvious, it is also important to discuss the role of leadership development in the creation of any culture of Greatness. Leadership is a responsibility of every stakeholder in the organization. In this lesson, you will learn the pros and cons of common leadership styles along with tips on how to develop the type of leadership that fits and inspires your team for any moment.

Great Teams Allow Culture to Shape Recruiting  (Lesson 3)

Great teams don't simply chase talent. They recruit players who fit their culture. They understand that great cultures are required for success, and ultimately that culture is dependent on the mixture of those added to the team. In this lesson, you will learn how recruiting to fit the culture is beneficial to more than just office morale…and learn how to do it more accurately.

Great Teams Create & Retain Depth through Healthy Competition (Lesson 4)

Just as Great Teams understand the importance of developing a leadership pool, they also know the value of creating depth across the organization. And, since change is always on the horizon, there's a definite need to build a team culture that fosters healthy competition and retains a talented workplace environment through engagement and continuous learning. In this lesson, you will learn how to recognize your high potentials, how to stay engaged with them, and how to boost retention.

ENERGIZING MANAGEMENT / MODULE 2 OF 4:

Great Teams Have a Roadmap (Lesson 5)

The journey to achieving greatness may be long but Great teams have a roadmap or plan that guides them there. The plan is the fabric of their culture, and all involved understand the importance of following the plan to reach their desired success.  In this lesson, you will learn more about establishing a training program that allows core values to become non-negotiables for future team success.

Great Teams Strive to Build Camaraderie & Collective Direction (Lesson 6)

Team building requires buy-in to what the collective direction and goal of the company is supposed to be. Within that is the art of fellowship among your professional team. The development of camaraderie doesn’t happen by accident; it is an intentional effort. In this lesson, you will learn what some of the Great Teams and businesses have done to promote camaraderie and a sense of collective direction.

Great Teams Manage Dysfunction, Friction & Strong Personalities (Lesson 7)
While camaraderie is the dream scenario for any team, dysfunction is very real.  Conflict is a common variable in team environments.  When your team has strong personalities and talented people, many times there will be friction. Great Teams know how to keep those challenges from derailing the achievement of success. In this lesson, you will learn how to manage dysfunction by hearing examples of how the Great Teams promoted a culture where the members didn’t always have to like one another, but they were driven to appreciate their respective value to the team’s overall goal.

Great Teams Build a Mentoring Culture (Lesson 8)
Many organizations have "mentoring programs" that are required as a component of corporate advancement. The Great Teams instead encourage a "mentoring culture" that is inspired by wanting to teach and learn every day.  Mentoring may seem informal, but done correctly, it is far more valuable than a mandatory check-in over coffee. Great Teams openly discuss the responsibilities of both mentors and mentees to make the business relationship successful. In this lesson, you will learn how the Great Teams unlocked consistent winning by establishing parameters for a strong mentoring culture
