Larisa Walega has been promoted to Vice President of Marketing for Ziebart International Corporation. She was formerly the Director of Marketing.

Brands Expanding

Pet Supplies Plus accepted 12 new franchise agreements and one independent pet conversion in the first half of 2020. The signed agreements will result in 20 new locations including the brand’s first venture into the state of Washington. Other state developments agreed to this year include Texas, Massachusetts, California and Illinois.

Oxi Fresh Carpet Cleaning opened a location in Secaucus, New Jersey on June 29 and will be headed up by Dhawal Balani. On July 1, husband-and-wife duo Luke and Mandi Erickson opened an Oxi Fresh location in Fort Smith, Arkansas.

Woodland, California is getting its first Arby's! This will be the fifth Arby’s location owned and operated by Fremont-based franchise group Kang Foods LLC, founded by brothers Anoop and Bikram Kang. The Downtown Woodland location, scheduled to open this summer, will be the first in the region to showcase the brand’s most updated restaurant design. The 3,500 sq. ft. Woodland Arby’s will feature a drive-thru and will bring approximately 40 new jobs to the area. 

Paris Baguette plans to open two new restaurants in Portland, Oregon by franchisee Jay Chun. Chun and his partners have been members of the Portland community for the past 15 years, and have retail and restaurant experience, which will allow the group to offer Portland an authentic bakery that seamlessly fits into the market. 

British Swim School awarded its newest territory to Ignacio Pinilla in San Francisco, California. With a strong belief in the importance of water safety and a love of water sports, Pinilla says British Swim School was a terrific fit.

New Features

To continue its commitment to provide continuous support and an enhanced experience for its franchisees, Dickey’s Barbecue Pit just launched an all-new franchise website. The new website goes into greater depth about the details of owning a Dickey’s Barbecue Pit franchise. It’s easier to navigate through Dickey’s available markets, international opportunities, brand facts, opening processes, and basic qualifications for joining the family. It also now highlights veteran opportunities and current partnerships that Dickey’s has with the veteran community.

Awards & Honors

FASTSIGNS International, Inc. has been recognized by the Canadian Franchise Association (CFA) as a gold recipient of the Awards of Excellence in Franchising in the category of Traditional Franchises, and also was honored with the 2020 Franchisees’ Choice Designation. FASTSIGNS has been recognized by the CFA for the eighth consecutive year for its strong relationship with Canadian franchisees, as well as extensive franchisee support and training.

Mergers & Acquisitions

Radiance Holdings is the newly formed parent company of Sola Salon Studios, and have just acquired The Woodhouse Day Spa. Radiance Holdings plans to represent a collection of premier brands in the beauty, wellness and self-care sector.
