Woofie’s – A Pet Care Franchise with a Personalized Touch

Marketing

In September of 2004, two neighbors and friends, Leslie Barron and Amy Reed, left their corporate jobs to pursue a career involving their love and passion for animals. The business eventually evolved into what Woofie’s is today: the first and only all-encompassing pet services franchise brand that includes pet sitting, dog walking and mobile pet grooming.

Woofie’s was recently acquired by Authority Brands in January of this year, and the acquisition has provided an expanded pool of resources from a much larger business to pull from. Critical systems like IT, HR and marketing are handled by best-in-class professionals, so that Woofie’s franchise owners can keep all their focus on providing best-in-class service.

Woofie’s targets clients whose goal is to not settle for anything less than the highest level of care for their pet as possible. As Woofie’s declares in their mission statement, they have a bone to pick with cookie-cutter pet care, and their team strives to ensure that each pet is treated with the highest level of care and intentionality.

The high level of personalization at Woofie’s doesn’t stop with the unmatched client care each animal receives; it also crosses over into the branding, and more specifically, into the way the mobile pet spa vehicle wrap was recently redesigned to feature local dog images.

The flagship location in Ashburn, VA held a Casting Call event this summer to photograph local dogs to search for new dogs to be the next faces of new Woofie’s vans. Franchise owners have the choice to choose between the top ten dog images that were voted upon by social media followers or hire a local pet photographer and host their own Casting Call event in their own community.

A beautiful golden retriever named Bonnie, who is a social media influencer herself, was the first dog who had the honor of being selected to be included in the new design. Bonnie is also a regular client of the Ashburn location and frequents the mobile pet spa as well, so she is a perfect first impression of the brand in her area.

Longtime client Ana Hul who signed on as a franchise owner earlier this year is set to open her franchise location in McLean, VA this fall. Her first mobile pet spa van was the second van created with the new design, and she decided to feature her beloved dog “Pepper”, who she also attributes as her inspiration for joining the Woofie’s franchise network.

As Woofie’s looks to grow and expand their franchise throughout the U.S., the team is looking for franchisees who are fellow pet lovers and have a knack for customer service and a commitment to continuously striving for excellence. The pet industry is full of opportunity, and franchising with Woofie’s can provide financial freedom using an already proven business model with the additional bonus of not requiring an expensive retail space. The mobile aspect of Woofie’s provides a lower investment and faster onboarding for franchises, with the initial investment ranging between $125 - $210K. Franchisees go through an initial training phase and continue to receive support from the corporate team during one-on-one monthly meetings. Direct access to expert guidance from the executive team is provided as well. Since the Woofie’s business concept has been proven out, all the franchisee needs to do is follow the process laid out for them.
