Every business and industry had to overcome unique and unprecedented challenges in 2020 and the electronics repair industry was no different. Despite these challenges, uBreakiFix, a leading franchise in this industry, announced that they ended the year with substantial growth in Q4, opening 22 new locations. With a total of 67 new locations opened last year, the total uBreakiFix footprint is now 611 stores across North America. Notable growth development was seen in California, where there are now 52 stores, Texas with 56 stores, and Florida - the brand’s home state- with 83 stores.

uBreakiFix also closed the year with more than 600 mobile repair vehicles on the road, bringing our superior repair services straight to customers’ doorsteps. This 'We Come to You' service, in addition to existing curbside and mail-in services, enabled uBreakiFix to continue supporting customers in new, safe, and convenient ways amidst the pandemic. The fleet of mobile repair vans are equipped with everything technicians need to safely complete smartphone screen and battery repairs, bringing the high-quality service and parts of a uBreakiFix store to a customer’s office, home, favorite coffee shop or anywhere else a customer may be. uBreakiFix plans to continue growing its 'We Come to You' footprint in 2021.

uBreakiFix President and Co-Founder Justin Wetherill believes that credit for the brand’s success this year goes to the unwavering commitment of the uBreakiFix team.

“Although 2020 brought its own set of unique challenges, I’m proud of our ability to not only remain focused on growth but meet our customers where they are in this season,” he said “Behind the steady uptick in new stores and ‘We Come To You’ vehicles, you’ll find a committed group of partners, franchisees, and team members whose number one priority is to continually improve the repair experience.”

Looking ahead to 2021, uBreakiFix plans to increase momentum, projecting 45 store openings during the first quarter alone. January is off to a strong start with seven locations already open, plus recognition again on Entrepreneur’s annual Franchise 500® list. uBreakiFix ranked #18 on the magazine’s 2021 list for outstanding performance in areas including unit growth, financial strength and stability, and brand power.

Wetherill says that he is especially proud of this years’ recognition as it highlights how hard the company worked to make this year a success despite the unprecedented challenges.

“The past year pushed the franchise industry to new levels of creativity and innovation, which makes us even prouder to be ranked among some of the most successful concepts out there,” said Wetherill. “We’re honored to be recognized on Entrepreneur’s annual Franchise 500® list for our impact as we continue to expand franchise growth, increase corporate support, and elevate the customer experience.”

Other projects that uBreakiFix hopes to continue in 2021 include a partnership with Samsung to bring hassle-free tech recycling to all U.S. uBreakiFix stores. Those looking to part ways with their old tech will be able to bring eligible devices of any brand, make, or model to their local uBreakiFix store for safe and responsible recycling.

uBreakiFix specializes in the repair of the small electronics that people rely on to run their businesses and stay connected with their families. In 2020, more than ever, these devices were lifelines that kept people connected, allowed them to work or go to school from home, and helped them stay informed. uBreakiFix was able to provide repair and relief to those that needed that connection restored and will continue to do so in 2021 and beyond.
