Chief Legal and Risk Officer, Papa John’s International, Inc.

Caroline Miller Oyler has 31 years of experience in private practice and the restaurant industry.  She currently is Chief Legal and Risk Officer and the Corporate Secretary at Papa John’s International, Inc. and has global responsibility for the company’s legal matters including intellectual property, international, ethics, corporate governance and franchising, as well as litigation and labor and employment matters.  Caroline also oversees Internal Audit, Risk Management, Security and Safety and Facilities and leads Enterprise Risk Management for the Company.

Caroline joined Papa John’s in April 1999, and during her tenure has served in various roles, including leading the Human Resources department for most of 2009 and in 2018, and overseeing the government relations function for several years.

Prior to joining Papa John’s, Caroline was a senior attorney at the regional law firm of Wyatt, Tarrant & Combs in Louisville, Kentucky.  She counseled clients on all aspects of labor and employment law, and litigated employment and commercial cases in federal and state courts throughout the country.

Caroline received her law degree from the University of Virginia in 1990 and was admitted to the Kentucky bar that same year.  She received her B.A. in Broadcasting and Government from Western Kentucky University, summa cum laude.

Caroline is a native of Louisville, Kentucky.  She is active in the community and has served on several boards, including currently on Greater Louisville Inc., the Louisville Chamber of Commerce.  She is married and has three children, ages 26, 23 and 19.
