Adam Contos retired in 2022 as CEO and Board Director of public company RE/MAX Holdings, taking the company to record Earnings, Profit, and Earnings Per Share in 2021 after 18 years with the organization. You know RE/MAX as the global real estate franchise powerhouse. While in the C-Suite, Adam acquired and lead 6 companies and over 700 employees, serving over 9000 franchises in over 110 countries worldwide. Not only was Adam in the Real Estate and Mortgage franchise industry, he also lead AI, Data, Geo Spatial Data Intelligence, technology, and loan processing companies under the Holdings umbrella.
Adam is currently an active Partner at Area 15 Ventures (www.area15ventures.com), a family office investment group started with Dave and Gail Liniger, the Co-founders of RE/MAX and nearly two dozen other businesses. Area 15 Ventures is dedicated to growing startup through mid-stage franchise companies looking to accelerate their franchise sales and revenue growth.
Prior to his nearly 2 decades in the corporate world, Adam was a SWAT team commander and undercover narcotics agent - among other law enforcement jobs he did while working throughout the Denver area for 11 years. During that time, he started two companies and consulted on SWAT tactics, personal safety, homeland security and counterterrorism. Adam continues to coach and consult CEO’s and corporations on leadership development and brand growth and gives back to his community as a Reserve Deputy Sheriff with the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office in Colorado.
Adam received an Executive MBA from the University of Denver Daniels College of Business where he is an Adjunct Professor of Executive Leadership. Adam received his CFE from the International Franchise Association and serves on the Board of Directors of the IFA. He has been featured in articles in some of the most recognizable business publications such as Entrepreneur, Forbes, Inc, Business Insider to name a few.
