IFA Foundation Selects Leadership Council Chair

WASHINGTON, Jan. 8 – The IFA Foundation is happy to announce that Sid Feltenstein will serve as the Chair of the Foundation Leadership Council. Sid will lead the development effort that supports the future success and work of the Foundation. The Leadership Council is committed to building the infrastructure that will achieve the Foundation’s fundraising goal of $3,000,000.

Doc Cohen, who served as Chair of the 2014 capital campaign of the IFA Foundation commented on the position saying, “Bringing years of franchising expertise to the table, Sid understands the importance of preserving the franchising business model for the future, and the critical role the Foundation plays in guaranteeing this happens.”

Sid has been an integral part of the IFA leadership for multiple years, including serving as IFA Chairman, IFA Hall of Fame member, Chair of the IFA Foundation, William Rosenberg Leadership Award, and Entrepreneur of the Year Award recipient. Supporting the franchising model in and out of business, Feltenstein has a hand in philanthropic activities, such as the HealthStore Foundation, which uses the business format of franchising to open clinics in sub-Saharan African villages.

Mary Heitman, the President of the IFA Foundation, is excited about partnering with Sid in reaching success. “Sid has a complete understanding of the Foundation’s mission and we are fortunate to have his guidance in helping increase the education resources we provide to the franchise sector.”

Graduating from Boston University, Sid has been and continues to be a key leader in the franchise community for over 15 years. Sid’s very successful career in franchising began in 1972. Over the last 45 years, Sid has been the Chief Marketing Officer of Dunkin’ Donuts and Burger King and the Chief Executive Officer of Yorkshire Global Restaurants and Sagittarius Brands. For the last fifteen years, he has also served and continues to serve on the board of directors of a number of franchise businesses.
