I am an energetic IT executive, leader and strategist with 15 years of experience in franchising and 20 years of experience in the software industry.

I am a Six Sigma Black Belt and Certified Franchise Executive awaiting my PMP certification. I graduated from UMass, Amherst in 2003 with a Bachelor of Science in Computers/Finance, and minor in Psychology. In 2005 I studied at New England School of Law with courses in Advanced Reading/Writing, Logic, and Contract Law.

Since then I earned experience with several small entrepreneurial companies that are now market leaders in their segment. My career has offered many opportunities within information technology: services, operations, sales, and strategist. As a result, I have a unique ability to manage multi-disciplinary projects and navigate complex challenges.

I am an outside the box thinker and have demonstrated repeated success with creative problem solving and new product launches. I have helped build two $40M+ software companies and have extensive knowledge of the sales cycle; setting and resetting sales records year over year not from a sales role but from a Customer Success capacity in part by leading teams to generate the highest satisfaction ratings in company history.

I am also a reporting guru and believe in incorporating technology into all aspects of business to assist in making more educated and data-based decisions. However, real world experience has taught me that my professional value boils down to understanding the language of the customer, franchisee, partner, vendor, board member, and software engineer. I enjoy building a team and seeing them become successful, and have had the opportunity to work for and learn from great people!

Franchisee Mentors

Below is a list of all Franchisee Mentors beginning with John Duffy and ending with Richard Simtob.

A proud graduate of Georgetown College, I played college football for Georgetown, where I served as the team captain and later transitioned to coaching after graduation. In 1990, I embarked on a career with Cintas as a management trainee, quickly rising through the ranks to become the General Manager responsible for opening the Jacksonville, Florida location. During my tenure at Cintas, I earned numerous accolades, including multiple Roundtable awards as General Manager. After 20 successful years, I left Cintas in 2010 to pursue a new venture with my business partner, Steve Howerton.

Together, Steve and I purchased City Wide Facility Solutions of Tampa Bay, opening its 25th location. Since then, we have grown the business from zero revenue to over $40 million. Our ambitious goal is to reach $100 million in revenue by 2034. In 2018, we expanded our operations by acquiring City Wide of Miami. Under our leadership, City Wide of Tampa Bay has become the largest location among more than 100 nationwide. I have been actively involved in the Franchise Advisory Council for over six years, serving as its president, and have participated in a performance group for over a decade. Our achievements have been recognized with numerous awards, including City Wide Franchise of the Year, Platinum Club, Chairman’s Club, and International Franchise of the Year.
