Three Pet Training Franchises to Invest in 2022

Share

During the pandemic, we saw a spike in pet ownership as people combatted loneliness in quarantine with a new companion, making pet training franchises primed for a surge.

Previously, we discussed the top six pet retail franchises to invest in 2021, as well as Seven Pet Daycare Franchises to Invest in 2021. Another booming part of the $70 billion pet care industry is the pet training franchise industry.

According to Arizton Advisory & Intelligence , the U.S. pet training services market is expected to grow at a CAGR of nearly 6 percent through 2026. Specifically, the US dog training services market is projected to surpass USD $820 million by 2026. The key market indicators are the rise in pet adoption from the pandemic, an increase in pet humanizing and higher level of care, the creation of in-home private training, and an increase in popularity of pet competitions.

Another driver of pet training is the rise in culture of pet ownership among Millennials and Gen Z homeowners in comparison to their parents. A study by the American Pet Products Association from Forbes found nearly 85 million US households have a pet and over the last 30 years pet ownership rose to 68 percent of households. While baby boomers account for 32 percent of US pet ownership, young homeowners make up a large proportion of the remainder at 62 percent.
