Dina Dwyer-Owens, CEO of The Dwyer Group, to Appear on Undercover Boss

News Round-Up

Dina Dwyer-Owens, Chairwoman and CEO of The Dwyer Group and former IFA chair, will appear on CBS's hit show "Undercover Boss," on Sunday, Jan. 22 at 8 p.m. ET/ 7 p.m. CT.

Dina accepted the opportunity to go undercover within the Dwyer Group to experience the life as a potential trainee while riding service vans out in the field, as well as learning how the corporate culture is being embraced by service professionals on the frontline.

Each week, UNDERCOVER BOSS follows a different executive as they leave the comfort of their office for an undercover mission to examine the inner workings of their companies.  They are able to see how their decisions have a direct affect on their employees and where the problems are occurring, while getting a chance to meet and reward the people who make their companies run.   For Dina, it is a hallmark occasion to be able to learn firsthand the ins and outs of the organization.

It will not be the first time franchising or an IFA member has made an appearance on Undercover Boss. Executives from Subway, Choice Hotels, Brightstar and 7-11 have all discovered how their companies are functioning on the frontlines.

The Dwyer Group is known for its franchise brands Aire Serv, Glass Doctor, Mr. Appliance, Mr. Electric, Mr. Rooter, Rainbow International and The Grounds Guys. The franchise family makes some 2 million residential and commercial service calls each year and celebrated its 30th anniversary in 2011.  The service brands will account for more than $750 million in annual system-wide sales this year.
