International Franchise Association Endorses Employee Rights Act of 2022

The International Franchise Association (IFA) announces its support for the Employee Rights Act of 2022, which was introduced today in the U.S. Senate by U.S. Sen. Tim Scott (R-SC). The legislation serves to protect and provide stability to American workers and encourage small business ownership, including franchises.

International Franchise Association Highlights Value of Franchising at U.S. Senate Small Business Committee Hearing

At a hearing today before the U.S. Small Business Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship, Leanne Stapf, testifying on behalf of the International Franchise Association (IFA), highlighted the value of franchising and the ways the business model is helping lead the economic recovery. The hearing, “An Overview of the Industry, SBA’s Role, and Legislative Proposals,” covered the state of franchising and various proposals to that could be damaging to the franchise business model. Stapf is Chief Operating Officer of The Cleaning Authority and franchise owner of a location in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.

IFA: FAST Act Passage is Another Step Backwards for California Restaurants

The International Franchise Association (IFA) today said passage of AB 257 (Holden), or the FAST Recovery Act, in the California State Assembly would be “disastrous” to California restaurants and franchises in the state. IFA urges the Senate to consider the bill’s harmful ramifications before it is heard this spring.
