Nation’s leading swim school franchise to open in Lakeville in spring 2024
TROY, Mich. (June 19, 2023) – Goldfish Swim School Franchising, LLC has signed an agreement to grow the brand in Minnesota, with the state’s fourth school. The newest location will be located in Lakeville at 20198 Heritage Drive and is slated to open in the spring of 2024.
Goldfish Swim School provides swim lessons and water safety instruction to infants and children aged four months to 12 years in a safe, child-friendly environment using a research-based philosophy called The Science of SwimPlay®.
Locally owned by Dave and Sarah Handley, the new school in Lakeville’s Heritage Commons Shopping Center will be the couple’s third Goldfish location. The other two are located in Oakdale and Eagan. Last year, the Eagan team was honored at the Goldfish Owners Celebration as Rookie of the Year due to their passion about Goldfish’s mission and determination to eliminate youth water tragedies while ensuring all children experience the joy of safe swimming.

Handley is a veteran of the U.S. Navy, where he served as a crewmember aboard the USS Albany submarine. He and his wife, co-owner Sarah Handley, who is a former D1 swimmer, share a passion for youth sports and water safety as the parents of three kids who are involved in competitive swimming, ice hockey, track and softball.
