ROSEVILLE, Calif. (May 24, 2023)Always Best Care Senior Services, one of the leading senior care franchise systems in the United States, recently held its annual conference April 23-25 at The Broadmoor, located in beautiful Colorado Springs, Colorado. The conference included educational breakout sessions, a franchisee appreciation dinner and an awards ceremony honoring all of the franchisees and caregivers who have demonstrated an exceptional commitment to their work and the people they serve over the past year.

The 2022 Always Best Care award winners include:

National Caregiver of the Year – Carolyn Travisano, Always Best Care of Fleming Island, Florida

Carolyn joined Always Best Care in January of 2017 and has been providing excellent service to her clients for the past five years. When one of her former clients entered his final days, she gave the client and his family her undivided support and love. She is often described as an “angel,” “warm hearted,” “empathetic,” “a Godsend” and “protector.” Although the franchise owners would clone this Caregiver in a heartbeat, they know that is not possible. However, she has “cloned” herself by serving as a valuable mentor to other caregivers.  We are so proud and blessed to have this Caregiver as part of our Always Best Care family.   The second runner-up was Melissa Watson from Always Best Care of Argyle, Texas, and the first runner-up was Sheria Nelson from Always Best Care of Austin, Texas.
Franchisee of the Year – Dan Barbee from Sacramento, California

To win franchisee of the year, the franchise owner must have been operating for a minimum of three years with revenues exceeding a minimum of $2 Million. We also consider overall incremental dollar growth year over year, operational excellence of the franchise, participation in FSO Initiatives and more. Dan Barbee had a great year in 2022, not only with revenue growth, but with great participation in many Always Best Care initiatives & strategies. This is Dan’s fourth year in a row with a significant double digit increase in revenue over the previous year, which is not something easy to do! That’s an incredible feat at this level of revenues, as Dan increased his revenues astronomically in 2022, more than tripling in a four-year span.

Dan embodies the Always Best Care model with multiple revenue streams and diversification of the business.  He also actively participates in the Performance Group and RAMP programs, as well as the recent launch of the artificial intelligence initiative, Sensi, and has supported prior initiatives rolled out by the field support office.

Rising Star Rookie of the Year – Tyler Kimura from Honolulu, Hawaii

To earn Rookie of the Year status, new franchise owners must be the fastest out of the gate after they complete ABCUniversity. This owner started gaining traction, virtually from day one. This year’s winner, Tyler Kimura, continues to challenge the status quo. He is always looking for ways to grow revenue for his agency and continues to look for new opportunities like staffing and participating in both the VA and Medicaid program. He began billing revenue in the 4th quarter of 2021 and ended up billing over millions in his first 12 months. His revenue continues to soar like a rocket. He is on pace to double his year-end sales at the end of 2023.

Team Member of the Year – Deniece Blow, from Always Best Care of Wallingford, Connecticut

When Deniece was first hired, it was only part-time, and her role primarily focused on checking in on the clients and the caregivers to make sure everything was running smoothly. She also assisted in introducing caregivers to clients who were beginning to receive care. Now, Deniece does just about everything at the Wallingford location, from calling and setting up VA and Anthem clients to scheduling and interviewing caregivers. She also has streamlined policies and procedures all while making the time to meet caregivers, go over care plans, do wellness visits, make sure clients are OK and so much more. Her passion has been directly reflected in the business itself, with revenue increasing 37% over the previous year. We’re happy to have Deniece on the team serving our clients in Wallingford and in surrounding areas.
