IFA Endorses Pennsylvania Reps. Joyce and Smucker Ahead of Next Week™s Primary Elections
Awards bipartisan “Friend of Franchising” endorsements for support of pro-business policies
WASHINGTON, April 17, 2024 – The International Franchise Association (IFA) today endorsed Reps. John Joyce (R-PA-13) and Lloyd Smucker (R-PA-11) ahead of next week’s primary elections in Pennsylvania. Named a “Friend of Franchising,” IFA endorsed the candidates for their leadership on pro-business policies supporting America’s locally owned franchise small businesses.
“These candidates have proven that they are champions for Pennsylvania’s local franchised businesses,” said Michael Layman, IFA senior vice president of government relations and public affairs. “In a political environment where franchises are under siege from misguided federal regulations, we need leaders like these who will prioritize policies to protect local entrepreneurs and all the good they do in the communities around them. Support for small business crosses party lines, and we are proud to support anyone who stands for our priorities.”
Pennsylvania is home to 28,399 franchised businesses, employing over 295,000 people in the state and providing $30.3 billion in economic output.
In addition to Pennsylvania endorsements, IFA has endorsed candidates in California, North Carolina, and Texas last month.
