Restaurant Brands International Executive Chair recognized for significant contributions to the advancement of franchising

WASHINGTON – The International Franchise Association (IFA) today named Patrick Doyle, Executive Chair of Restaurant Brands International (RBI), recipient of the 2024 IFA Hall of Fame Award. The Hall of Fame Award is the oldest and most prestigious recognition conferred by the IFA, recognizing a franchisor or franchisee who has contributed significantly to the advancement of the franchise business model and to the benefit of the IFA mission. The award is given to a lifelong leader who is often viewed as a legend in franchising.

“It’s a tremendous honor to be inducted into the International Franchise Association’s Hall of Fame. This recognition is a reflection of the incredible people I’ve worked with over 25 years in the restaurant industry. But, above all, it’s a tribute to the franchisees I’ve partnered with, who are the foundation of every great franchise business,” said Doyle.

Mr. Doyle has been Executive Chair of the Board of RBI since late 2022. He spent nearly a decade as CEO of Domino’s Pizza, following leadership roles overseeing domestic and international operations for over 14 years. Previously, he served as an executive partner at Carlyle Group, focusing on the consumer sector, and as Chairman of the Board at Best Buy Co., Inc., where he was a director for almost 10 years. Mr. Doyle holds an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and a BA from the University of Michigan.

“Patrick Doyle’s remarkable leadership and unwavering commitment to the franchise business model, along with his focus on franchisee profitability and technological innovation, have had a profound impact on franchise business owners and consumers that will be felt for generations,” said Matt Haller, IFA President and CEO. “His visionary work at RBI and revitalization of Domino’s Pizza created a legacy worthy of the highest honor in franchising.”

The Hall of Fame Award will be given at IFA’s 65th Annual Convention in Las Vegas, Feb. 10-13, 2025. The award recognizes an individual’s contributions to franchising through successful franchising programs, innovative activities within franchising, and service to the International Franchise Association. These individuals are pioneers in the industry and represent the very best in franchising. Past inductees to the IFA Hall of Fame are available here.
