Michael Gonda, SVP, chief communications officer, McDonald’s has been awarded the PRWeek Global Award for Global Professional – In-house.

Two Maids (part of Home Franchise Concepts) marked their 20th year in business. In two decades since the brand’s inception, Two Maids has a franchise network of over 70 franchisees domestically and employs a total of over 1,000 professional house cleaners systemwide.

CarePatrol was recently named a top franchise by Franchise Business Review in its report on the Top Recession-Proof Franchises for 2023 and a top 50 franchise for women.

School of Rock was recently named a top franchise by Franchise Business Review in its report on the Top RecessionProof Franchises for 2023. 

Camp Bow Wow is reporting strong numbers that include record systemwide sales and an industry-beating average annual revenue growth rate. Camp Bow Wow saw a 19 percent increase in dog visits with more than five million Camper visits. The company’s nonprofit, the Bow Wow Buddies Foundation®, raised a record-breaking $200,000- plus and received a record number of grant requests, helping to fund urgent veterinary care for 125 dogs throughout the U.S. and Canada.

Mergers & Acquisitions 

FranchiCzar has acquired Pinot’s Palette. With more than 80 franchises across the United States and Canada, Pinot’s Palette brings the FranchiCzar network to more than 100 franchise locations open or in development across three brands. 

Empower Brands has added Koala Insulation and Wallaby Windows to its growing portfolio of brands. The addition of these industry leading brands brings Empower to nine total brands under its umbrella and will add 115 franchisees to its ever-growing network.

 

Brands Expanding

Hand & Stone Massage and Facial Spa has opened a new location in Myrtle Beach. Located at 1416 Highway 17N in the North Coastal Shopping center, the new Hand & Stone North Myrtle Beach spa is owned and operated by Anthony and Traci Nocito. This will mark the fourth spa opening for the Nocitos, with their other spas operating in Pennsylvania and New York. Now, the Nocitos bring Hand & Stone’s signature luxury spa experience to Myrtle Beach, making high-end wellness services affordable and accessible to the Grand Strand community.

MY SALON Suite has announced plans to open 10 new locations across southeast Michigan and Chicago. MY SALON Suite franchisees Alpesh Trivedi and his business partner will spearhead the expansion amid rapid growth of their businesses. Trivedi and his partner joined MY SALON Suite in 2016 after years of experience franchising with other brands. They now own the rights to 11 locations throughout Michigan, including four open MY SALON Suite locations and four more under construction or lease negotiations, as well as three Salon Plaza locations. Trivedi and his partner gained an additional 10 licenses to open MY SALON Suites in the Chicago market or other Midwest states and Michigan, nearly doubling their portfolio with the brand and bringing them to over 20 planned locations. 

GYMGUYZ has added 18 new territories over the last year, contributing to its overall growth goal of another 75 territories by the end of 2023. This news comes on the heels of the brand’s 15-year anniversary, paving the way for its next era of growth. To set the stage for accelerated development, GYMGUYZ recently opened a two-story, 18,000 square-foot headquarters in Melville, New York.

Goldfish Swim School continued its rapid expansion in Q1 2023 by signing five agreements for eight schools and opening six schools, with another approximately 20 schools to be opened this year.  All except one of the new location deals were developed through existing multiunit franchisees who continue to expand their portfolio of locations.
