ATLANTA – Smalls Sliders, the QSR restaurant concept that focuses exclusively on grillin’ up cheeseburger sliders, appoints Kris Douglas as its Vice President of Technology. In this role, Douglas will leverage his extensive experience as a technology thought leader in the QSR industry to lead the brand’s technology strategy development and planning while also managing its digital presence.
“Smalls Sliders has taken the restaurant industry by storm with just a handful of existing locations. I’m excited to introduce innovative technological solutions that will further enhance the customer experience and operational efficiencies as we grow to be a leader in the QSR space,” said Douglas. “I look forward to working closely with our executive leadership team to catapult our growth moving into the second half of 2023 and beyond.”
Before joining Smalls Sliders, Douglas developed a keen understanding of technology and how it plays a pivotal role in brand development through nearly two decades of experience in the field. He has worked across various industries including consumer goods, network news, healthcare, financial services and QSR while leveraging strategic technology solutions to advance his respective companies. Most recently, Douglas led IT strategy and PMO execution at Inspire Brands (Arby’s, Baskin-Robbins, Buffalo Wild Wings, Jimmy John’s, Sonic and Dunkin’). In this role, he was primarily responsible for enterprise M&A-integration and restaurant technology strategy development. With an established reputation for thriving in fast-paced environments while managing multiple priorities, Douglas is well-suited to advance Smalls Sliders as a competitor in the ever-evolving technological landscape of the restaurant industry.
“Kris is a brilliant business strategist and highly knowledgeable in the realm of technology, and we’re elated to welcome him to our growing leadership team,” said Maria Rivera, CEO of Smalls Sliders. “It’s no secret that technology integration has become indispensable to the restaurant industry in recent years. His leadership and expertise will give us the competitive edge needed to propel our brand forward as we expand nationwide.”
Smalls Sliders opened its first restaurant in 2019 and has since grown to eight locations throughout Louisiana, with more than 60 locations already in the development pipeline. The restaurant has already garnered industry recognition, with QSR magazine featuring the brand in its “40/40 List for 2022: America’s Hottest Startup Fast Casuals” and Nation’s Restaurant News naming it one of the publication’s “Breakout Brands of 2023,” in addition to ranking on this year’s Entrepreneur magazine “Top New & Emerging Franchises” list.
