This year, the frozen yogurt chain has partnered with The Salvation Army to spread holiday cheer. Select sweetFrog locations will host bell-ringers in honor of The Salvation Army’s 126th annual Red Kettle Campaign. In addition, sweetFrog stores nationwide are offering a limited-time treat called Santa’s Sweet Salvation, whose cups will feature messaging encouraging support for The Salvation Army. For sweetFrog patrons who want to contribute to The Salvation Army, they can help “turn the shops red” by purchasing a special Salvation Army pin-up that will adorn the walls with festive holiday messages. Finally, sweetFrog has created a unique and delightfully tacky Christmas sweatshirt featuring their two mascots, Scoop and Cookie dressed snowmen. Proceeds from the online sales of the sweatshirts will benefit The Salvation Army. The Salvation Army donates to communities around the world, helping with a wide variety of programs including Christmas assistance, elderly services, adult rehabilitation and youth camps and recreation.
This year’s wonderful Christmas campaign is not sweetFrog’s first holiday season of charity contributions. In 2014, sweetFrog hosted a nationwide Deck the Halls Event supporting local choirs. Participating locations hosted choirs to perform some classic holiday songs. Monetary donations from the crowd went directly to the choir and choir members were able to enjoy a complimentary cup of frozen yogurt. In addition, $1 of each purchase made by choir supporters at participating locations was donated back to the choir organization. At the end of the Deck the Halls Event, sweetFrog collected videos of each choir performing the classic song “Deck the Halls,” made a montage and created a video Christmas card for use across social media. This campaign supported local music programs and spread Christmas cheer in communities across the nation.
sweetFrog’s community contributions don’t end with the holiday season; they actively work to give back all year long through their Leap Forward School Program. sweetFrog encourages and rewards childhood achievement by offering schools free frozen yogurt cards for faculty to distribute to students as a reward for good behavior or exceptional scholastic achievements. In addition, sweetFrog hosts educational field trips that coincide with the students’ curriculum. Activities include worksheets, coloring sheets and hands-on activities that teach children about things like weight, temperature, mass, volume, graphing and currency.
