Soccer Shots® Announces Three New Franchises; Two Former Pro Players Launch Programs

Harrisburg, PANovember 13, 2006  Soccer Shots Franchising, LLC has recently added three new franchises.  The new franchise locations are located in Philadelphia, PA; Palm Beach, FL, and Dallas/Ft. Worth, TX.  These new additions bring the total number of franchises to 34, which does not include company-owned programs in Charlotte, NC and Harrisburg, PA.

Two of the new franchise owners are former professional soccer players.  Cesidio Colasante, owner of Soccer Shots Philadelphia recently retired from the Philadelphia Kixx of the Major Indoor Soccer League.  Prior to playing pro indoor soccer, “CC” was an NCAA All-American player at La Salle University in Philadelphia, PA where he is the all-time leading scorer with 76 goals and 31 assists.  “CC” is also the only La Salle soccer player to have his number retired.

Another former pro soccer player turned Soccer Shots franchise owner is Toni Siikala, who is in the midst of launching Soccer Shots in Dallas/Ft. Worth.  Toni is originally from Finland but came to the United States to play college soccer at Campbell University in North Carolina.  After graduating from Campbell, Toni played professionally in the United Soccer League’s “A-League” where he earned many honors as a quality professional player.

Former professional soccer player and company co-founder, Jason Webb, explained, “We have worked extremely hard at developing a soccer teaching program that is known for its unique program and excellent operation.  The immediate success of our own program coupled with unexpected outside interest made us realize the program needed to be national.  We are extremely excited about the caliber of people that have become attracted to this business.  We’re talking about people who have achieved great success in various walks of life.  They’re now putting that energy back into the game and into these young kids, and they’re having great success with it.”

Soccer Shots offers structured “intro to soccer” classes to children ages 3-8.  The classes are 30 minutes long, are offered once a week, and include over 30 unique, age-appropriate, soccer-specific lesson plans.  They are typically offered as part of a child’s day at preschool or day care.  Class lessons develop healthy living habits, self esteem, and a life-long love of soccer and fitness.

According to Jason Webb, “The program is successful everywhere it is introduced for several reasons.  First, we have put great creative thought into our lesson plans and marketing strategy.  And we train and support our franchisees diligently.  Second, school directors and parents are facing a health crisis and are literally asking for our program and then are promoting it for us. Children are less active these days mainly because parents need to work and because video and computer entertainment is so enticing. Unfortunately, child obesity and the associated health risks are also rising. Parents and teachers recognize that exercise and exposure to sports is a vital part of every child's early development.  And third, not many people are already doing a good job at this kind of thing.  There are untapped markets for Soccer Shots franchises throughout the United States.”

Total start-up costs to purchase a Soccer Shots franchise are between $9,500 and $12,000.  This includes 3 days of comprehensive training and all required program marketing material and equipment.  Ongoing royalty fees are 7%.
