Top Franchisors and Franchisees will Provide Strategies to Address Today’s Challenges

WASHINGTON, March 12, 2010—Teamwork between franchisees and franchisors is the focus of the IFA Multi-Unit Franchise Best Practices Conference slated for May 23-24, 2010 in Las Vegas.

“This new conference will spotlight the approaches and solutions that franchisees and franchisors have been taking together to address such issues as credit access, challenges of growing from one to multi units or brands and working to keep real estate costs at acceptable levels,” said Doc Cohen, CFE, president of DOC & Associates. Cohen is a multi-unit franchisee owner of 22 Great American Cookie Company stores, 11 Pretzel Maker stores and a Coffee Beanery.  He is also a past chairman of the IFA.  “We have gathered some of the best minds in franchising to share best practices on these and many other topics facing multi-unit owners today.”

The IFA Multi-Unit Franchise Best Practices Conference is being held in partnership with the International Council of Shopping Centers, Inc. “The conference program pairs top franchisees with their franchisors to discuss important topics together,” Cohen said.  “This unique approach promises to deliver high impact and enticing dialogue on some of the most challenging issues facing the industry.  Attendees will tap into the knowledge, resources and business connections of the programs participants to develop winning strategies for success.”

Franchisee and franchisor speakers include Ken Walker, CFE, IFA chairman and chairman & CEO of Driven Brands and three Driven Brands franchisees: Phil Collins, MAACO, Brian Brown, Meineke and Joel Walker, Driven Brands.  Also featured will be Michael Kuzminsky, senior vice president franchise operations, Church’s Chicken along with Aslam Khan, CEO Falcon Holding, a Church’s Chicken Franchisee and several other franchisee and franchisor pairs from PostNet International, Jack in the Box, Two Men And A Truck, The Dwyer Group, Long John Silver, Jani-King, NexCen Brands, Radio Shack and The UPS Store.
